In a separate high-profile case (Sep 2025), a senior inspector and a sub-inspector from the Wadala TT Police Station in Mumbai were arrested as part of a ₹4 lakh bribery case.
The officers — identified as senior inspector Chandrakant Sarode and PSI Rahul Waghmode — were accused of demanding ₹50,000 from a complainant to avoid implicating him (or his daughter) in a case; the bribe negotiation allegedly involved amounts as high as ₹5 lakh before the trap was laid.
