Diwali 2024: Ayodhya Set To Break Own World Record By Lighting 28 Lakh Diyas In Deepotsav; Details

Diwali 2024: The eighth Deepotsav celebration in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya kicked off on Wednesday with a procession of 18 vibrant tableux that made its way through the temple town.

The floats, bearing characters from Ramayan, depicted key moments from Lord Ram’s life. At its concluding point, the procession was received with an ‘aarti’ by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

However, the highlight of this year’s Deepotsav in Ayodhya will be the state government’s attempt to surpass its own world record by lighting more than 28 lakh diyas along the banks of river Saryu in the temple town. Last year, UP’s Department of Tourism earned a place in the Guinness Book of World Records for illuminating Ayodhya with over 22.23 lakh diyas on the eve of Diwali.

The UP government is aiming to break its own world record by lighting over 28 lakh oil lamps along the banks of river Saryu in Ayodhya. This is the first Deepotsav in Ayodhya since the inauguration of the grand Ram Mandir in the holy city.

A 30-member Guinness World Records team is present in the city to adjudicate over the attempt.

– The will be arranged by 30,000 volunteers.

– The counting of the diyas will be carried out with the help of a specialized software to ensure accuracy as precise dimensions for each 16 square foot area are critical for maintaining count integrity, according to news agency IANS.
