On Friday, 8th March, 2024, renowned industrialist Prashant Gobind Hingorani of Indiana Group was bestowed with the ‘Udyog Ratna’ award, established by the Maharashtra government.
The award was presented to the MD & CEO, Prashant Hingorani of Indiana Group at Jejuri MIDC, during the inauguration of a badminton court, by Shri Sharad Pawar, along with MLA Shri Sanjay Jagtap Ji, Shri Dilip Barbhai Ji and Shri Ramdas Kute Ji. This recognition comprised a shawl, a citation, and a memento from the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC).
Following the presentation, Prashant Hingorani stated that “When Indiana started its first plant in Jejuri in 1990, we helped to put Jejuri on India’s manufacturing map. And today, Jejuri is on the world’s manufacturing map. These days Made-in-Jejuri products are being shipped across the globe, from the United States and Europe.” Prashant Hingorani also added that he is accepting this prestigious award on behalf of the entire Indiana family.
Founded in 1970, the Indiana Group has established itself as one of the leading and preferred suppliers in the infrastructure sector and focusses on projects in oil and gas, energy, petrochemicals, refineries, processing plants, steel and other core sectors. Today the group verticals include high quality fabricated steel structures, electro forged gratings, cable trays and support systems, safety handrails, primary and secondary heavy, medium and light fabricated structures and bulk material handling systems.
Indiana has always strived for excellence, not only in their products and services but also in the positive impact they have on society and the environment. In order to promote community development, particularly in Jejuri, they have been actively engaged in numerous CSR initiatives. Their main areas of concentration have been clean water, sanitation, healthcare, and education. The Indiana Group has constructed numerous toilets for girls’ schools, donated Solar lights, supplied ambulances, installed tree guards, etc. Moreover, while delivering the speech soon after the receipt of the award, Prashant Hingorani contributed Rs. 2 lakhs for the cervical cancer vaccine.
