OTM ‘Booster’ edition marks the return of International Travel & Tourism

Mumbai, September 13, 2022: The mega international travel trade show OTM Mumbai, usually held in February, is now back at Jio World Convention Centre, BKC, a world-class exhibition venue. This time the show will be organized from 13 to 15 September 2022.

In the name of ‘Booster‘ edition, this OTM is being organized for the second time in the same year. The show will be helpful in promoting destinations that are poised to take tourism to a new level post-pandemic. The first edition was conducted in March this year, following which the need for a second booster edition was felt. Especially for those who could not take part in the show at that time after the effects of the pandemic.

The edition was attended by a large number of participants from abroad- Saudi, Russia, Qatar, Korea, Mauritius and Indonesia who have set up their colorful pavilions. Russia has separate pavilions from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad and Murmansk. Talking about India, the pavilions of the Ministry of Tourism, Goa, Gujarat, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab and Andaman-Nicobar Islands have been established. More than 500 exhibitors from more than 20 countries from several Indian states have participated in the show.

The Hon’ble Tourism Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Mangal Prabhat Lodha, was present as the Chief Guest in the inaugural session. Heads of travel business organisations, Consuls and Ambassadors from participating and non-participating countries – Argentina, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Cuba, Austria, Qatar, Uzbekistan, Vietnam etc., and other industry dignitaries were present at the inauguration.

“Overall travel and tourism is improving well in 2022-23, but the market will be different in the coming years as changes are being felt in visa processing and many other aspects after the pandemic. Keeping these changes in mind, OTM is the right place to boost the travel and tourism industry.” said Sanjeev Agarwal, Chairman and CEO, Fairfest Media Limited.

OTM 22 is a special booster edition that will set new benchmarks in terms of exhibitors, visitors, buyers, infrastructure and amenities in India, at par with any other 5 star international venue. The 3-day event will bring together National and International Tourism Boards, State Tourism Boards, Hotels, Resorts, Airlines, Destination Management Companies, MICE, Wedding Planners, Film Producers on a single platform. Representatives from all these sectors will present their ideas to improve travel and tourism around the world.

Nearly 91 percent of Indians across the countries surveyed would like to go on a vacation to a destination of their choice in 2022. International travel trends are increasing rapidly, according to the survey, more than ever before. In 2022, Indians want to spend more on international travel than before.
